Will my wife get my classic car in divorce?
Question by Ed: Will my wife get my classic car in divorce?
Hi, I live In WI and I am going through a divorce. We are trying to do this online cheaply without getting lawyers involved. I told her she can take what she wants, I just want my car. She verbally agree d, however if lawyers DID get involved I am afraid her word isn’t going to be enough. If I have her sign a paper, stating that I get the car, would that be good enough for the court? So far she pretty much has taken everything else already anyway.
Thanks Much!

When you draw up your settlement agreement, make sure that is stated in there.

if you want only that car, you have to get it.

i she is willing to sign something then i would say to have her sign it in front of a notary and that should be legit enough to hold up in court

If it was a gift or someone gave it to you, NO. But if its community property? Text her about the car that it’s yours and then maybe she will text you back about the car and then you have proof she said she didnt want it.

divorce is all; about what you two agree on.
lawyers can tell her what she is entitled to,what she accepts along with you could be much different depending on agreement
